Brand Philosophy
H stands for…
S stands for…
HS stands for…
Our Core Promise
"Healthy Origins, Safe Quality."
The Founder's Manifesto
Every company has a name. Ours carries a promise. When Hatem Shaaban founded HS Herbs in the fertile heart of Fayoum, Egypt, those two letters were never just initials — they became a declaration of purpose encoded into every kilogram we ship across the world.
H is for the Handpicked Harvest that begins at first light on certified Egyptian farms — the careful selection of only the finest chamomile flowers, the most aromatic peppermint leaves, the purest nigella seeds. It is the Heritage of a land that has cultivated medicinal and culinary herbs for millennia, reimagined through the lens of Hygienic modern processing facilities. It is the uncompromising High Standard we impose on ourselves before any international buyer imposes theirs.
S is for being a Sustainable Supplier — one who builds long-term partnerships, not transactional exchanges. It is the rigorous Selection of every batch against third-party laboratory COA results before it leaves Alexandria Port. It is the Solutions we engineer for importers navigating FDA compliance, EU organic regulations, or Halal certification requirements. It is the Standard that earned us ISO 22000, HACCP, and FDA Registration simultaneously.
Together, HS stands for Honest Sourcing, Healthy Spices, and a High-Quality Supply chain that our partners across Germany, the United States, Malaysia, and the Gulf have come to depend on — season after season, container after container. This is not a brand. It is a Heritage Supplier's word, put in writing on every phytosanitary certificate, every Certificate of Analysis, every commercial invoice that carries our name.
What We Stand For
Every batch is tested against third-party laboratory COA standards for moisture, purity, heavy metals, and pesticide residue before receiving export clearance. High Standard is not our promise — it is our minimum.
96% Batch Acceptance Rate
Full traceability from farm to port. Every shipment includes farm-of-origin declarations, processing batch records, phytosanitary certificates, and comprehensive commercial documentation — no ambiguity, no surprises.
100% Documentation Compliance
We cultivate lasting relationships with certified Egyptian farms across Fayoum, Aswan, the Nile Delta, and Sinai. Our network of trusted growers is audited seasonally — ensuring the Handpicked Harvest standard is never compromised.
Audited Farm Network
Sustainable Supplier is not a marketing term for us — it is an operational mandate. We work exclusively with farms that practice responsible water use, reduced chemical inputs, and seasonal crop rotation to preserve Egypt's agricultural heritage for future generations.
Responsible Agriculture
We respond to every inquiry within 24 hours. We provide accurate, detailed quotations — no hidden costs, no inflated specs. Honest Supplier is a value that Hatem Shaaban personally upholds in every commercial interaction with international partners.
24-Hour Response Commitment
Our HACCP-certified processing facilities operate under strict GMP protocols. Temperature-controlled drying, UV sanitation, and gravity separation systems ensure that every product leaving our facility meets the Hygienic Solutions standard demanded by pharmaceutical and food-grade importers globally.

International Accreditations
These five accreditations are not checkboxes — they are the backbone of every export decision we make. Each one represents a system, a discipline, and a promise to our international partners.
Fully compliant with US FSMA regulations. Our facility holds an active FDA Food Facility Registration, enabling direct export to all 50 US states with complete Prior Notice documentation.
US Market Clearance
Quality Management System certification confirming that our operational processes, supplier audits, and customer service workflows meet the highest international quality management standards.
Quality Management
Food Safety Management System standard integrating HACCP principles into a comprehensive international framework. Preferred by European importers, pharmaceutical processors, and institutional food buyers globally.
Food Safety System
Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points certification — a science-based systematic approach to food safety covering biological, chemical, and physical hazards from raw material production through to final export dispatch.
Hazard Control
Certified compliant with Islamic dietary law standards — essential for export to the GCC, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkey, and the broader Muslim-majority consumer markets that represent a core segment of our B2B partners.

The Person Behind the Promise
Founder
Hatem Shaaban
Founder & Export Manager
"Every container that leaves Alexandria with my company's name on it is a reflection of my personal commitment to quality. That is not a slogan — it is a responsibility."
Hatem Shaaban built HS Herbs from the ground up, combining deep agricultural knowledge of Egypt's herb-growing regions with the commercial acumen required to navigate international B2B markets. As both Export Manager and Digital Marketing Manager, Hatem personally oversees every aspect of the company's international operations — from farm partner selection through to final shipment documentation.
His philosophy is simple: an international importer deserves a supplier who puts their name — literally — on every invoice they sign. The "HS" in HS Herbs is Hatem Shaaban's direct pledge that what was agreed, tested, and certified is precisely what arrives at your facility. No substitutions, no shortcuts, no surprises.
From Farm to Port
Four rigorous stages — each governed by a documented process and verifiable standard — separate a raw harvest from a certified export shipment carrying the HS Herbs guarantee.
Cultivation begins with farm-selection audits across certified Egyptian growing regions — Fayoum, Aswan, Nile Delta, Sinai, and Upper Egypt. Only farms meeting our seasonal quality benchmarks for soil health, pesticide-free or low-residue practices, and responsible water management are engaged. Harvest timing is coordinated with our in-house agronomist to capture peak essential oil content and moisture levels.
Raw material arrives at our HACCP-certified processing facility where it enters a multi-stage cleaning, drying, and grading pipeline. Gravity separators, optical color sorters, and sieve graders remove foreign matter and sub-grade material. Products are dried to specification (typically ≤12% moisture), then graded by size, color, and aroma profile before being assigned a production batch number that links to every subsequent quality record.
Each production batch is submitted to accredited third-party laboratories for comprehensive testing: microbiological analysis (TPC, Salmonella, E. coli), heavy metal screening (Lead, Cadmium, Mercury, Arsenic), pesticide residue multi-residue analysis, aflatoxin panels, and moisture/ash content. A full Certificate of Analysis is issued per batch. Batches failing any parameter are rejected outright — no exceptions, no negotiations with our quality floor.
Approved batches are packed per buyer specification — 25 kg PP bags, multi-wall paper sacks, food-grade cartons, or custom private label packaging — and loaded into 20ft or 40ft FCL containers under buyer's or our freight forwarder's supervision. Full export documentation package: Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, Phytosanitary Certificate, COA, Fumigation Certificate (where required), and FDA Prior Notice. Standard lead time: 14–21 days from order confirmation.
